It’s only delayed, folks!
Music fest renamed “Roctoberfest” is moving to October 17.
Due to the weather, The Federici Fest (Loudoun Summer Music Fest) in Loudoun County has been rescheduled from today until … Saturday, October 17 at the Belmont Country Club – located at 19661 Belmont Manor Lane in Ashburn, VA.
The fest is named after Danny Federici was the keyboardist for Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band until he died from melanoma.
As the organizers say: “We all know the weather has not been kind to the Loudoun Summer Music Fest even this season, but we are making lemonade out of lemons!
The forecast for the weekend (on Sunday and Monday) was rain Thursday, Friday and thunderstorms on Saturday. Since we were flying over 30 musicians in from all over the world for this show the last thing we wanted was an outdoor rehearsal on Friday with rain and a show on Saturday with thunderstorms.
So, having to pull the trigger quickly on what we were going to do, we decided it was best to postpone the date to October 17th (October being a typically dry month) and make it the Danny Federici Roctoberfest! The show will not go on this weekend but will be happening in October so mark your calendars!”
The Fest has also added a few new musicians (including Simon Kirke of Bad Company) to the show that couldn’t make the first one because of their Summer tour schedule. Cracker will be in Europe, so the new headliner will be announced on the fest’s website soon (see below).
The organizers says: “Bear with us. We can’t control Mother Nature, but are trying our best to work around her.”
Gates open at 12 noon. The show starts at 12:30.m. Tickets are: $30 in advance; $35 at the gate; and $40 Gold Circle.
For information and tickets, go to their web site.
Come to a concert and do good at the same time…Bring a non-perishable food item to the show and get VIP Early Entry (15 minutes prior to gate).
The 2009 Summer season of The Loudoun Summer Muisc festival is presented by Open Band.
