Edinburg is getting ready for the Holidays, Valley-style

Edinburg, VA – On Saturday, December 5, 2009, beginning at 5 p.m., the town of Edinburg, Va. will be ushering in the Holiday Season with a fabulous, traditional Christmas parade down Main Street – with Santa Claus bringing up the end. (Maybe we’ll even see Rudolph!)
The parade route will end on Stoney Creek for the lighting of the largest town Christmas tree in Shenandoah County.
Come out and celebrate. Enjoy the music, food and fellowship.
Edinburg’s 5th Annual Candlelight Parlor Tour will be held on Friday, December 11 and Saturday, December 12, 2009 from 4 to 8..m. This years’ homes are magnificent, warm and welcoming. The cost is $10.00 per person. Tickets and maps will be available beginning November 14 from these downtown Edinburg merchants:
- Edinburg Village Shops
- Edinburg Tea Room
- The Watchful Tiger
- Fran Romeo & Company
- Natty’s Nook
More locations are being added, so check back often.
Directions from Northern Virginia: Take the 66 West, and then the 81 south. Get off at the Edinburg exit, and go east toward Route 11. (Route 11 is actually Main Street in Edinburg, as well as many of the small towns that dot the Shenandoah Valley.)

I love the Christmas tours along the Valley and plan to catch a parade or 2. Just wondered if this is a night time house tour? We held ours in the evening in the Springfield Historic District in Jacksonville, Florida. Edinburg is a great location for shopping with the upscale shops that carry better than department store products.
